Hadith no: 465
Narrated: Aisha
(the wife of the Prophet) I had seen my parents following islam since I attained the age of puberty. Not a day passed but the Prophet visited us, both in the mornings and evenings. My father Abii Bakr thought of building a mosque in the courtyard of his house and he did so. He used to pray and recite the Qur'an in it. The pagan women and their children used to stand by him and look at him with surprise. Abu Bakr was a Softhearted person and could not help weeping while reciting the Quran. The chiefs of the Quraish pagans became afraid of that (i.e. that their children and women might be affected by the recitation of Quran)."

Hadith no: 49
Narrated: Abdullah bin Abbas
I was informed by Abu Sufyan that Heraclius said to him, "I asked you whether they (followers of Muhammad) were increasing or decreasing. You replied that they were increasing. And in fact, this is the way of true Faith till it is complete in all respects. I further asked you whether there was anybody, who, after embracing his (the Prophets) religion (islam) became displeased and discarded it. You replied in the negative, and in fact, this is (a sign of) true faith. When its delight enters the heart and mixes with them completely, nobody can be displeased with it."

Hadith no: 220
Narrated: Ibn Shamasa Mahri
that he said: We went to Amr b. al-As and he was about to die. He wept for a long time and turned his face towards the wall. His son said: Did the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him not give you tidings of this? Did the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) not give you tidings of this? He (the narrator) said: He turned his face (towards the audience) and said: The best thing which we can count upon is the testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah. Verily I have passed through three phases. (The first one) in which I found myself averse to none else more than I was averse to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and there was no other desire stronger in me than the one that I should overpower him and kill him. Had I died in this state, I would have been definitely one of the denizens of Fire. When Allah instilled the love of islam in my heart, I came to the Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said: Stretch out your right hand so that may pledge my allegiance to you. He stretched out his right hand, I withdrew my hand, He (the Holy Prophet) said: What has happened to you, O 'Amr? replied: I intend to lay down some condition. He asked: What condition do you intend to put forward? I said: should be granted pardon. He (the Holy Prophet) observed: Are you not aware of the fact that islam wipes out all the previous (misdeeds)? Verily migration wipes out all the previous (misdeeds), and verily the pilgrimage wipes out all the (previous) misdeeds. And then no one as or dear to me than the Messenger of Allah and none was more sublime in my eyes than he, Never could I, pluck courage to catch a full glimpse of his face due to its splendour. So if I am asked to describe his features, I cannot do that for I have not eyed him fully. Had I died in this state had every reason to hope that I would have bee among the dwellers of Paradise. Then we were responsible for certain things (in the light of which) I am unable to know what is in store for me. When I die, let neither female mourner nor fire accompany me. When you bury me, fill my grave well with earth, then stand around it for the time within which a camel is slaughtered and its meat is distributed so that I may enjoy your intimacy and (in your company) ascertain what answer I can give to the messengers (angels) of Allah.

Hadith no: 800
Narrated: Ibn Umar
Umar saw a silken cloak over a man for sale and requested the Prophet (SAW) to buy it in order to wear it on Fridays and while meeting delegates. The Prophet (SAW) said, "This is worn by the one who will have no share in the Hereafter." Later on Allah's Apostle (SAW) got some silken cloaks similar to that one, and he sent one to 'Umar. 'Umar said to the Prophet (SAW) "How can I wear it, while you said about it what you said?" The Prophet (SAW) said, "I have not given it to you to wear, but to sell or to give to someone else." So, 'Umar sent it to his brother at Makkah before he (his brother) embraced islam.

The son of Sayyidina Abdullah ibn Mughaffal (RA) said that when his father heard him recite the Bismillah audibly in salah, he said, 'O my son, this is something new (bid'ah). Keep away from innovation.' Ibn Abdullah said, "I did not find any of the sahabah more against innovation in islam than my father.' He (Abdullah) said, "I offered salah with the Prophet (SAW) and with Abu Bakr (RA)Umar (RA) and Uthman (RA). None of them said the Bismillah in a loud voice. Umar asked after various people, and he informed him. Then Umar inquired, 'Do you have any recent news?' He said, 'Yes. A man has become a kafir after his islam.' Umar asked, 'What have you done with him?' He said, 'We let him approach and struck off his head.' Umar said, 'Didn't you imprison him for three days and feed him a loaf of bread every day and call on him to tawba that he might turn in tawba and return to the command of Allah?' Then Umar said, 'O Allah! I was not present and I did not order it and I am not pleased since it has come to me!' "

Uthman bin Affan looked at them and heard them when they spoke of killing. He said: "Are they threatening to kill me? Why would they kill me?
